3 Figure Competition Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Thousands of first time figure competitors dedicate themselves to prepping for a figure contest. However, many of them unknowingly fall for the most common and overlooked figure competition mistakes.
In this short, yet very informative article I am going to share with you some of the most common figure contest errors and how you can avoid them to create a winning physique.
Figure Prep Error #1
One of the biggest figure contest boo-boo's I see time and time again is following a generic figure competition diet taken off a website or blog. General figure prep diets on the Internet are to give you an idea of how a figure contest diet should appear. They are not meant to be taken verbatim.
In addition, what works for one person does not necessarily work for the next. To lose body fat and build finely-detailed muscle, you need a competition diet mapped out for your personal body type and weight.
Figure Prep Error #2
Some figure competition mistakes aren't so obvious. For example, to lose weight you need to lower your calories a certain degree, but too many figure competitors cut their calories too far below what is necessary to lose body fat and end up losing muscle instead.
By lowing your caloric intake will get the fat loss process in motion, but to keep your metabolism up and running in high-gear you should schedule in a re-feed day every several days to a week. This simple caloric manipulation can force your body to burn up 70% more body fat.
Figure Prep Error #3
Figure competition mistakes come in all forms, and one overlooked figure contest error is weight training. While heavy weight with low reps does build muscle mass, don't confuse building muscle with cutting for a figure contest. While you can build muscle and lose fat at the same time, try to adjust your training so you zone in more on the fat loss.
You can amp-up your weight training intensity and boost your metabolic rate easily by using 10-12 reps for each exercise. If you take each set to complete failure, you will indeed target the 2b muscle, growth, fibers, and condition your physique for your contest.
These 3 figure competition mistakes are very common and frequently overlooked. If you can avoid just these three errors, you will lose body fat, build muscle, and sculpt a winning figure competition physique.
