3 Things You NEED to Know Before Entering Your First Figure Competition


Figure contests have taken the fitness community by storm. More and more women are getting fit and taking part in the ever so popular figure competitions. But, before you start prepping for your big day, there are 3 things you NEED to know before entering your first figure competition

In this short and informative article I am going to share with you 3 tips to employ before attempting a figure prep program.

Tip #1 - Everyone has advice

Yes, EVERYONE has advice for you and everyone will try to have his or her input on what he or she thinks you need to do to prepare for your figure competition. Keep in mind that too many cooks in the kitchen can ruin a good meal. The mistake most first time figure competitors make is listening to too many people, and they end up ruining a perfectly working figure prep plan.

Tip #2 - Start preparing early

You can never start prepping for your figure competition too early. The pitfall a lot of newbie figure competitors make when preparing for their first figure competition is starting their figure contest diet too late, such as at the 12 week mark. Twelve weeks prep time may work for the advanced figure competitor because she may know her body and how it responds to diet tweaks and training. However, new and intermediate figure competitors are usually not as in-tune with their body's responses and need 14-16 weeks prep time sometimes.

Tip #3 - Secure a roadmap

A downfall to figure competitors prepping for their first figure competition is they don't have secure plan of action laid out. It's a fact that 85% of newbie figure competitors are only guessing as to what to do each week in regards to their diet, training, and cardio. If you have set a goal to compete in a figure competition, you NEED to formulate a course of action to take ahead of time. Map out your diet, training, and cardio plan and simply tweak it on a weekly basis.

Competing in your first figure competition doesn't have to be a difficult task if you can implement a few easy steps before hand. It's not a matter of who diets the hardest that wins; it's who prepares the smartest. Construct a blueprint to follow, give yourself 2 at least 14-16 weeks, and don't let everyone's comments and/or advice detour your thought process.
